Eleonore Beurel, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at the University of Miami School of Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. She received her PhD from Pierre and Marie Curie University, Paris, France, and did her post doctoral training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham under the guidance of Dr. Richard Jope an expert in the field of biological psychiatry. Dr. Beurel is studying the role of the immune system in depressive behavior, and discovered the unique role of Th17 cells in depressive behavior in mice.
